Ok so this is the Introduction episode to a podcast series call La Última Ceremonia (the end is just the beginning) which is a series about my 3-week trip to the amazon jungle where I stayed with a Shipibo family and opened up a 3-month Sama (also known as a plant diet) with a plant called Marosa.
Ok so this is the Introduction episode to a podcast series call La Última Ceremonia (the end is just the beginning) which is a series about my 3-week trip to the amazon jungle where I stayed with a Shipibo family and opened up a 3-month Sama (also known as a plant diet) with a plant called Marosa.
This was such a life changing experience on so many levels that I felt like I needed to document the trip. So my plan is to do several podcasts not only documenting my journey in the jungle but also to talk about things like:
- The history of plant medicines
- The culture of the Shipibo
- The differences between western medicine and indigenous medicine
- The differences between western culture and indigenous culture
- The rise of spiritual materialism
- What it means and takes to become a healer or curandero
- And whatever else comes to mind
Because the truth is I don’t have much of a plan, just a lot of ideas and information swirling around in my head and a very general framework in which to follow.
So the purpose of this introduction episode is to lay the groundwork, giving you the basic information needed so that we can hit the ground running in future episodes.
